Totally with ya there! My resolution was just to get in better shape and ride faster. I have no idea how much weight I've lost (since a 10yr bout with an eating disorder they're off limits) but all of my clothes are falling off me and I'm spinning on the trails like crazy:monkeydance:
:thumb: That's awesome!!! Congratulations on batteling the eating disorder. I just don't like having a number attached to my body...I judge myself based on how my clothes fit and how winded I am on the trails too! Keep up the good work!!!

Well, same resolution as last year. Lose some weight and get back in shape. Last year I went from 200 to 168 by summer. This year Im 185 so I dont have much to lose and Im still in pretty good shape.

I just want to lose the 10 pounds of holiday weight I put on and get back to my "sexy weight" of 165. Halfway there.

In 2007, I exercised 71% of all days (be it, riding, hockey, weights, cardio, skiing). I'd like to hit 80% for 4 out of every 5 days.

3 for 3 so far in '08.

My resolution, besides continuing to kick ass, is to not drink beer when I go out to dinner. It's a combination of the beer being expensive as fack and the empty calories. I'd much rather prefer to defer the empty calories to the weekend.

I can lose weight fast when I eat right, lift, and exercise. Heck Im down 5 lbs in 5 days already. I use the bowflex for 45 min, coreball for 15 min, and trainer bike for 50 minutes. Then I keep my calorie intake under 2500 cal. I only splurge one meal a week. I can be pretty dedicated.

Fontucky? It's been years since I rode that course, and the times I did was only when Cal Poly Pomona hosted their race there. How is it nowadays?

I hope to be down to the high 160s by summer. I tore something in my tricep lifting the other day, so its been hard to lift. Ive just been hitting the coreball and bike trainer till it heals.

How is everyone else doing?

I haven't been able to lift due to thumb surgery, but i'm starting that up on Monday (got the OK from the doc). I've been in a cast and out of the gym for a while, just started back up a few weeks ago.

Been doing cycling (10 min warmup, 15 minutes hard, 5 minute med 15 minutes hard, 10 minutes med, 5 minute cooldown) one day and swimming laps for an hour the other, 6 days a week. Watching what I eat too, and eating often (every 2-3 hours), feeling good about that and it's certainly manageable. Not your typical "I'm so hungry kill me now" diet. Definitely noticing an improvement.

Down to ~185 in 3 weeks (From 192). I hope to be around 170-175 before the season starts. I don't have too much fat to lose anyways, just looking to get leaner and more prepared for the upcoming season.

I forgot how much I love swimming!

I want to dedicate more time to my yoga practice. I've been half assing it for about 10 years now and it's time to step up. I've started teaching a group of girls at work so it is motivation to really focus on it.

Don't just teach them, destroy their will to do anything else.

10 lbs in one month isnt too bad, I guess. Id like to lose 10 lbs more.

Im lifting and core strengthening 3-4 days a week and Im on the trainer 5-6 days a week for about 15-16 miles. My entire work out takes about 2 hours. Its been hard getting up at 5:15-5:30am, but Im getting use to it. Ive been keeping my calorie intake at about 1500-2000 cals. Im going to drop down to 1000-1500 cals for a bit. Ive been eating real good.

Anyone else?

Goal: 165 by March 22nd, when I'll run my first marathon.

Dropping the weight wasn't the biggest thing, but building a better core, and getting my legs into shape before the season, not in the middle of summer. So far it's working. None of my riding buddies can touch me, even though I bought a super heavy bike.

I'm doing pretty good as well! Been swimming, running, and/or riding almost every day this year (with only two exceptions). I PR'd and placed in a local 5k a couple of weeks ago and my first mtb race is in April. Just gotta keep it going!

I sure would like to get down a little more, but I think I just need to maintain, now. I can't wait for the season to start. We got about 12" of snow over the last 2 days, so it might be awhile yet. :(

I dont know what my problem is. I always gain 15-20 lbs from Oct to Dec. Im back up to 185 again. Once the new year starts, its back in the gym. This thread always gets me motivated to get back in shape for the season.

Im getting ready to hit it hard starting on Jan 2. I need to loose about 20 lbs... again. Doing nothing and eating everything for 3 months is hard on the body. :)

I'm with you. I'm at 195# right now. Need to get back to 180-185 by end of Feb and 175 or so before the summer gets into full swing.

After 6 months of not riding (because if shoulder surgery, then getting hit by a car on my road bike) I got to 223lbs (usually run around 200lbs). I started watching my calories just over a month ago and I have now lost 7lbs.

I am hoping to get under 200lbs by my wedding in May 2010.

Currently around 155, my body build has always beth "athletic" borderline "skinny" so I started going back to the gym and taking GNC's "AMP" protein and createin products. (No this is not a promo for them) though I can honestly say they work great and help with the recovery time quite a bit.

In the next few winter months my goal is to get in shape and add a little lean mass for the upcoming DH and general racing season. So far so good...

resolution: un-f4ck my shoulder...

hurt it in a crash a few months back. thought I was back to normal, but after a big hike-a-bike today it tried to pop out in an awkward turn on the way down.

ibuprofen and ice has me feeling better, but a phone call to the physiotherapist is in order.

What have you been doing week to week?
I get up every morning before work at 515 am. I do the Bowflex for 30 min, core ball for 30 min with dumbells, then I put a mountain bike movie in the DVD player and ride the trainer for 50 minutes (15-16 miles).

8am-Breakfast varies-large Protein/Vitamin shake blended with a banana, or a bowl of Mini-Wheats and fruit, or small Egg Beaters omlette with mushrooms and tomatos.
11am-Snack is apple with granola bar.
1:30pm-Lunch is vege stir fly with chicken or lean beef.
4pm-Snack of orange, banana, and fiber bar.
630pm-Dinner is vege stir fly with chicken or lean beef or turkey burger.
800pm-Snack of carrots with light ranch SOMETIMES.
10pm-bed

I try and drink a ton of water but its usually G2 mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with water.
REPEAT 5-6 days a week.

I can usually lose 5 lbs a week if I stick to this. This last week we went out to eat to celebrate my kids AWESOME report card. She wanted to go to Sizzler.. you know the rest of the story. :) I have also found out that I lose more weight if I dont eat past 7pm.

^^^ that's fantastic dude. you'll be my role model.
i'm giving up drinking and i MUST ride my bike anywhere within five miles, as long as it's not raining or i don't have cargo.
Trying to get down from 210 to 190 at least. my diets been better but it's hard to do good excercise with a knee fresh out from under the blade.
