Alright.

I am going to New Zealand on Feb. 17.
I have the opportunity to bring a bike.

There is a forest full of xc http://www.google.dj/search?hl=fr&q=rotorua+mountain+bike&lr=Planet Bike

There will be DH area with a gondola within a few miles. I'm 18 and I'm going with my Grandpa, so I will be in and around Rotorua.
THe Whakarewarewa forest has a lot of xc. I've heard that some round of the nationals series will be going down there too.

So here is the question: Bring the stinky9/shiver to enjoy the gondola, or bring a pxbommer with a black to compromise between DH and XC.

I have no XC bike.

If it were me, I would bring the compromise bike because I would get more variety out of the deal, and more fun saddle time. NZ looks like it has some awesome XC singletrack!

Bring the compromise bike...and make sure to travel to the south island.
