New guy checking in. 1st question for the site... :)

I am about to go out of town and while there I may be getting a 2011 Cannondale Trail 6 (cause its a great deal) but then shipping it back home (unassembled). If I do that im gonna have it in a box at home and would either need to assemble it myself or take it somewhere to have them assemble it.

Ive done lots of car work in the past including motor swaps and such but never assembled a bike. Also this is gonna be my 1st bike so am not too familiar with putting one together.

So is it a good idea for me and a friend to tackle assembling the bike or no?

Anything special we need to know about doing it?

Thanks in advance!

if your buying it already assembled and then shipping it home it's not a big deal. bikes come pre assembled from the manufacturer. all shops need to do most times are put on the pedals, bar and stem. you could easily do the reverse if the shop has a box saved and just re-assemble when you get it home. other than that you may need to do some cable adjustments for shifters and brakes. plenty of video's on YouTube that show you how to adjust shifters and brakes
