I dont ride trials but cant figure out why the front brakes are disk brakes and the back are rim brakes. Why are they setup like that.

its because the disc in the front has more modulation and the back needs more bit. that setup will give you that.
frames dont stand up to disc use. at least most dont but there are a few out there. lots of people dont like the feel of a disk while on the rear wheel either- not much play if you stop your wheel at the rim but there is a bunch if you stop it at the hub between adaptor flex, pad wobble and spokes.
