newbie question.

so im wanting to make my xc bike a semi not to hardcore dirtjumpin bike. in a nut shell its lookin like i need some solid rims and a single sprocket conversion chainguide bein that i dont use any of the other sprockets. im on a budget so just wonderin.

It kind of depends on which xc bike you're talking about and how it is sized. I have seen a couple of people convert a really small mtb, like 14" frame, and make a decent rigid single speed jumper....

However, the basic answer is it's not worth it. Just get a DJ bike. Not only is the frame geometry different on a DJ bike, but almost everything else as well, fork, wheels, pedals, cranks, stem, bars...

So just check craigslist for a used Giant STP, Specialized P.1/P.2, DK Xenia, etc.

sweet thanks. ya ive been lookin at my bike and the style of the dj bikes and it doesnt really look like its gonna workout. thanks for the bike suggestions and whatnot. :) looks like i might be bustin out the bmx bike till i find a good deal on a dj bike.
