I know both parties have their crazy agendas, and wacky candidates, but - as objectively as I can manage to see it -

Huckabee? Rand? Palin? Gingrich? Trump? Really? They have strong, but extreme, and realtively small followings - none could win, I hope the party 'sticks to its guns' (aka increasingly extreme idealogy.) and Obama is a cinch.

If only, only, only, Colin Powell would run. The Republican party has good, strong candidates, just like the Democrats do, but who wants to subject themselves to the media scrutiny. The sad thing is there is absolutely no moderate politicians anymore. You have to be extreme one way or the other to appeal to the Super PACs.
