..well, symbolically anyway. Much easier than actually having to do anything about it...

Democrats Plan Symbolic Votes Against Iraq Plan
By JEFF ZELENY and CARL HULSE

WASHINGTON, Jan. 9 — Democratic leaders said Tuesday that they intended to hold symbolic votes in the House and Senate on President Bush’s plan to send more troops to Baghdad, forcing Republicans to take a stand on the proposal and seeking to isolate the president politically over his handling of the war.

Obviously not any important work needs to be done or anything, lets hold symbolic votes. Great idea.

I thought I read that the Dems were unwilling to actually withdraw funds, they were just going to kick up a stink?

I mean this sincerely... can congress stop THIS admin from doing whatever it wants? What's Congress' recourse if they say no more troops and he sends them anyway?
shootin' from my bitch-hips: i don't think he can direct them w/o congressional approval.

just like any other labor pains of messy divorce in the makings.

blah!
All they are trying to do is create a situation where the people of the US will have a certain "Hatred" towards the republican political party. So they can try and take over all 3 branches in 2008!

As if you thought 15 year olds couldn't get any dumber...

The Democrats are vaginas, pure and simple. They could EASILY shift the course of the Iraqi War by tugging on a few purse strings, but that would be too "risky" and they want it to be GWB's responsibility. Guess what, fvckwits...it's been his resposibility since he got the US into that ****hole, and look where it's gotten the US. DO SOMETHING.

Congress needs to burn down.
