I've been eyeballing a RIP 9 for some time now and it seems like a sweet bike. My only concern is that the lower part of the linkage that hangs below the BB. Has anyone had any problems with striking the lower linkage? I know if you take that kind of hit the chain rings will probably take most of it but it still concerns me to have an active part of the suspension swinging out in the breeze like that.

A similar design was used on Balfa 2Steps - a freeride bike without any problems. You should be more than fine.

As the suspension compresses the BB will lower in relation to the link, making it a non-issue.

I've been riding a RIP since September, and have never tagged the linkage.
Riding in New England tchy steep singletrack.
