Shouldn't be discussed as much.........:D ;)

But I feel they should be FINED and move on. What they did was illegal and they knew it. Partial pastey or not.

I would have thought she would pick a better way to present "dat ting" All pushed up and flopping over....it is all in the presentation.

Ms Janet, I am sorry about how the nation has attacked you and your family for no reason recently.....big old  But you are not making it very hard (no pun intended) to give you the attention you hate so much.

Rhino"the flash"fromWA

If someone can get a huge amount of money for something as stupid as spilling hot coffee on themselves....I think Janet and Justin whould be fined millions of dollars for their stunt. What is the fine supposed to be? $275,000.....eh, they make that in an off day.

If I could do that and lose a days pay....I'd do it. :D

Kid Rocks use of the Flag as a stage prop/wardrobe is of more interest to me in a political sense.

But it is good to know that some members of the Jackson family are indeed confirmed mammals.

Which one would you consider a free speech right?

Just curious. Titty on broadcast TV is a no-no.... Descrating a flag has been popular all over for many decades...

Because he was wearing an actual flag that he cut up. Those items you reference aren't flags.

I think that was the whole problem - was he cut up a flag. The VFW webpage implied he cut the flag onstage, which is complete horsesh*t. Either they need better eyeglasses or better editing.

It is interesting how times change - Abbie Hoffman wore a flag themed shirt and it was the ultimate insult to patriotism at the time. During the 2002 election, conservative Senator Larry Craig's Wife was shown on campaign material with essentially the same shirt.

Regardless of how Kid Rocks shirt was made, he was wearing it out of respect. That's hardly desecration.

Around the time of 9/11/01 (as I am sure anytime the flag becomes used everywhere) I read many articles in papers saying the use of the flag (the stars and stripes theme) for advertisment was wrong. Using them on Bumper stickers for any purpose was wrong, The standard not touching the ground, proper retirement, etc......

Does anyone else remember these articles?

Now the use of the flag and the right/wrong line has softened in the last 50years....but is there a steadfast list of rules (made back in the dawn of the nation)

Anyone in the military have easy access? (I assume they might have the info handy)

A RWB shirt made to resemble a flag was wrong (if I remember the article right) I always thought that was odd.

Forgive me I am rambling based on a vague recallection.....:o:

the VFW and American Legion have a different opinion of that. (FWIW Both groups use the word desecration in their press releases).

Personally, I thought he was using it as a stage prop and it highlighted his ignorance. I don't believe either Janet Jackson or Kid Rock are running the country to ruin, but I do think they are opportunists lacking common sense.

Red bra-shma.... waredrobe malfunction-'smuntion. It's like that one time you and I were at band camp.....;)

Mistake or not, they (JJ & JT) broke the law.....FINE THEM. It will be an expensive mistake.

Kid Rock can hide behind freedom of speach at least. I'll admit I didn't see the show...I tuned in late in the second half. I haven't seen Kid Rocks flag outfit.

Janet wanted exposure....she got it. It aint free. Buck up, and pay up. FCC frowns on that sortof stuff..."mistake" or not.

The FCC would tend to dissagree. Boob on broadcast TV is a no-no.

I might as well go walking along the street and wing my penis for everyone to see....same deal. (Oh the jokes I feal brewing with that...) Indecent exposure......oh but waite,my red lacey thing wasn't supposed to comeoff too....I just don't beleive that load they are dishing.

Read my lips.... P-A-Y T-H-E F-I-N-E. Then the world can go along with its regularly schedule de-programing.

well okay then, on that same note... what about any other live show where the people use language that is not allowed on tv? they don't get fined. what about the Grammy's a year or two ago (?) when Lil Kim came out in her one boob open dress and had a pasty over her nipple... then!!! only to have Diana Ross Jiggle it ON NATIONAL TELEVISION. what's the difference?

From where the cameras were, Janet's boob looked like it had a pasty on it... had people not made such a big deal about it, it wouldn't be a big deal.

there are so many unscupulous things that go on live television anymore... where do you draw line? what's good for one should be good for all... if one person gets away with something, then all should be allowed to.

we live in a world of hypocrasy. the only reason.. and I mean the ONLY reason this is such a big deal, is because it's an election year. everyone wants to look all pristine and proper so just incase their candidate wins.. then they look good as well.

AND... if we're going to take to the degree of, "it's against the law, they need to be fined, because it was on public national television".. then every little damn horny teenager that flashs her boobs at a group of boys on the school grounds, or some little pimply ass testosterone driven boy flashes his willy at a bunch of girls out on the parking lot of the school.. should recieve just as steep of fines as the next person. Why do these people who go to Mardi Gras not get $27,000+ fines for flashing for beads?

it's NO different. what's good for one, should be good for all.

they get ticketed/ fined/hauled into the station sometimes in Sturgis.....for flashing. They need pasties there.

Never Been to Mardi Gras but depending on city regs they probably can be cited. They actually might....I don't know.

Horney teenagers can be cited....public indecency/exposure/whatever. Buddies brother was caught urinating in the dark off their new deck one night....cops took him in and charged him with public urination....in the sticks, on private property, in the dark. His neighbor has an ongoing thing with my buddy so she was more than happy to call the cops. IT DOES HAPPEN...sure it happens quite often.

You don't see beasts on broadcast television....not because noone wants to do it....it is because it is illegal and they get fined.

i totally hear everything you're saying. it just seems that people make a bigger deal out of something just becuase it's there to splash around in the media.

I think there ought to be a duration limit on media coverage... for example, you're only allowed to broadcast an talk about something for a maximum of 2 days.. then that's it, move on.

you can't tell me that JJ's boob is the only thing this country has to talk about on the news these days?

depends on your tv i guess....in ireland there are plenty of boobs on tv after ten, and this is true of most of europe, at least where i've been...hell, go to a beach on the mediterranean.

americans are way too hung up on body parts. one on hand, all the ad campaigns/music industry/movie industry etc go out of their to make stuff as provocative as they can, but when a boob gets shown it's "x-rated"? c'mon, what a joke. the internal struggle between hedonism and puritanism.

Does anyone remember the TV show "Bizzare" from about 15-20 years ago?? It was hosted by John Byner and was where Super Dave Osborne got his start. They showed boobs on that show, on regular cable and everything, those were the good ol' days.

And to think it was a "mistake" is joke.

They pushed the limits set....now they should deal with the concequences.

This is USA televised and it went against the rules set by the FCC. It is as simple as that....if it was on cable and not lovethe boobs would probably be fuzzed also.

Bare butts....OK (even that 10 years ago was a no-no)

Frontal Nudity is taboo.

On Broad cast TV.....uh, yeah. Wait how much of the nipple was exposed? If the little one is clamped down on the breast than probably not. ;)

"Living" has nothing to do with the current rules.

JJ did this full knowing what was going to happen......get real. Sniff, sniff....publicity? JJ & JT are not dumb....full of themselves, but not dumb.

Tell me. Was what she did illegal?.....answer is yes. Was it a big deal to me?....answer is no. Does she have a special get out of trouble for breaking the rules card? ....answer is no.

She knew full well she was breaking the rules.....now she should pay the fine.

It isn't rocket science.

I think they should make the people suing watch all the episodes of Oz that HBO did, sitting in a chair Clockwork Orange style.

That'll desensitize em!

That's a great show. Funnily enough that's the first American TV show I've seen that can hold a candle to some of the British and Australian shows I've watched in terms of grittiness and realism. I didn't know the Americans had it in them:thumb:
