I think to reopen screws in pivots, relube bearings and tighten them. But I wonder how much NM I need to apply for different type of bearings which I marked (also other that im curious of)?

How to relube bearings at right way? inside hole and sides? i have fork grease.

I checked manual of newer frames, there says 8-12nm but old bearings of year 2002 couldnt take that much, eh?

Thanks in advance! :thumb:

Honestly, I think finding the torque values for an 8year old frame is going to be very difficult. I'd put the chances at very slim to none, of someone knowing the torque values off the top of their head.

I'd assume that the bearings are sealed. I've had some success at regreasing sealed bearings by using a dental pic to slighly open the sealing lip and injecting a high viscosity grease or heavy motor oil.

Personally, I'd apply just a little low strength thread locker to the threads of each bolt and tighten them to my satisfaction. Hope this helps.

Im over here now
8-12nm/70-106lb-in isnt that much really for a pivot bolt

edit: but as mentioned, itll be hard trying to find info on a 8year old bike unless it comes from Kona

hm probably leave this for a while so i can fiddle under winter time :D I can ask NSMB there is full of canadians :D or enduroseals.com for common data about bearings.

I checked norco newer frames, it appears they use similar bearing in back end of swing arm. difference is that old frame use the same ones overall.

as thanks for your replies, i post pic of my ugly mini-dh rig hehe
(recently changed seals for fork, need work with other small things  )
