This seems to be a trend with many companies as of late. They seem to just take their newer "trailbike" and make a 4-cross/DS/superD frame based upon it these days. The demand for DS/4-cross and similer bikes is so small that producing a full line of them is probably just not proffitable. Since race bikes are going to be one-offs anyway, they just make them look like the trailbike and leave it at that.

Yup, Santa Cruz is now making a Blur 4x for 2005. Looks pretty sweet, but very niche-specific. It'll probably take the Heckler's place as Santa Cruz's f/s dj frame. Info here: http://www.santacruzmtb.com/bicycles/4x.php

I just hope that the Blur doesn't have the bearing problems of the other Blurs. I do believe that there has been no change to the bearing ID or OD so they are the same. I guess there is only one solution, ceramic bearings :blah:, or a hardtail.
