Wow! What pressure were you running? I've never seen a rim fail like that, I've seen rims crack all the way through from abrupt hits

Front or rear? I've got a rear 105 9-spd wheel built on a Mavic CXP22 rim. Probably 500 or so miles on it, just been sitting for a couple of years, after I took it off of my commuter. If you need a rear, it's yours. Has a cassette too.

Agreed with Dustin, that could have been baaaaaaad.

That's not unusual at all. Rims wear out from braking and will eventually fail like that. I used to go through about three or four rims a year when I was racing and training off road 10- 20 hours a week. More often than not the rim would dent before it split because it was so thin.
