It's the start of a new year and we have an exciting project for upper Noble Canyon Trail. We will be re-routing an unsustainable fall line section of trail and eliminating the first 2 of the road crossings, no more wondering if there's a car coming. We will lose approximately 1/16th mile of trail but gain close to a 1/4 mile of singletrack. The corridor has already been cleared of brush and with the great weather we've been having I think we can start digging sooner than later. This will be a mutli-event project and the more volunteers digging the sooner we can ride it.

Swag provided by Niner Bikes, Calcoast Bicycles and refreshments from Lagunitas Brewing Company.

Stay tuned for more details...

Looks like Saturday February 1st is a go, in fact, weather permitting we will continue digging on Sunday as well. The USFS is offering the use of the Redtail Roost for a BBQ afterward and up to 20 people can spend the night there also. It is unlikely we'll finish the entire re-route in 1 weekend, but the more we accomplish the sooner we can ride it however, if we actually start to get rain we may need to keep it closed temporarily.

These are the details for the first event so far, 2 days of trail work, 1 or 2 BBQ's, at least 4 cases of Lagunitas beer, swag provided by Calcoast Bicycles and hopefully continued great weather. One lucky volunteer (must sign the volunteer waiver) will win a free Niner (M or L) One9 frame once the re-route is completely finished, so remember this is a multiple event project, the more events you attend the greater the chances of you winning.

Meet 9:00 a.m. at the Penny Pines trail head parking area, we will carpool in, then a short hike to the work location.

Directions: I-8 East past Pine Valley to left on Sunrise Highway, Continue to Penny Pines Parking area just past mile marker 27.5.

Please RSVP to mark@sdmba.com so we know how much resources we'll need..
