Hey,

Well what can I say? What a night, last Thursday, I went to see NoFX live, backed up by The Epoxies and the Swinging Utters, I knew it would be an awesome gig!! It was the first time I'd heard the Epoxies and the Swinging Utters but had heard loads of good comments about them.

First band comes on, and it's the Epoxies, damn they were good, they blew me away, i'm on the look out for their albums now no doubt about it!!!

Second band, and it's the Swinging Utters, OK not as great as I'd thought they'd be but still a good band, and still had a good time listening to them.

NoFX, what can I say, the first time I've ever seen my favourite band live, and it absolutely kicked ****ing arse! Their funny, play the best music, and put on one hell of a show. truely one hell of a night out I think, and would deffinately do it again!!!

How many of you guys have seen NoFX and what did you think?

Cheers
Chris

Laura digs those guys...I dont.
I saw them one year at the Warped Tour & I was expecting some raw punk with an edge, for some reason. But all they did was whine over 3 power chords. But I did like a couple of songs. I think I was the only one stoned too.

EDIT-Sorry, I didn't mean to trash a band you like.

They play here quite a bit. They put on a great show and it's cheap too (like the good old days of punk). They play the small clubs here that get packed, way better than seeing someone at the Rose Garden Arena.

First time I saw them they rocked, second time they seemed like burnout gutterpunks. Maybe its cause the second time around I'd already decided punk was dead...

How long have they been around??? I first heard of them in about '94. I dont think they had been around for 10 years at that point, but I dunno for sure. I think punk started sucking somewhere in the '80s myself, but NOFX is much better than most "new" punk bands. I just got my Minutemen double nickles on the dime cd restored, now thats a sweet punk album/band.

edit - I just checked out their site, looks like they have been around for that long, no wonder they dont suck. "War on Errorism" is one of the coolest album titles Ive heard in a while.

I've seen these guys in various venues around the Pac NW going back to the early 90's. I think the first time I saw them they were touring in support of "ribbed".

They are a pretty fun band to watch play. The best (read most fun) line up I saw them in was in Salt Lake City. Ten Foot Pole - Face to Face- NOFX. It was in a relatively small place which I believe was called "Deviate". Face to Face were late getting there for some reason and NOFX ended up playing a super long set in second position while waiting for Face to Face to get there. The energy in the place was off the hook.

I would probably go see them again if it was cheap and convenient but I kind of lost interest in the Fat Records sound that was was getting beat into the ground in the early 90's.
