Noob here, I bought a bike with stratos forks not knowing that you can't get anything for them till now. Anyways I put a bit heavier fork oil in them cause the seals are leaking. Now I have no rebound adjustment. The knob still turns fine but nothing changes. BTW I don't know what model they are, they're somewhere around 160mm travel with lockout and rebound adjustment only Thanks.

Are the stratos forks you have gold or silver?
or are they upside down forks
gold are stratos MX6
silver are stratos FR4
also there are silver stratos S7
and the upside down are super star s8
Saying that though they can't be upside down as they had 203mm travel i think.
Also these are notourios for seals leaking.
I have heard people getting custom made seals like the enduro seals.
Also i hope you did not put regular oil in them as they take automatic transmission fluid and not oil.
Hence the thick oil making them worse.
i WOULD STRIP THEM de-grease them and take the original seals to a motorbike shop or something like that.

Sounds like they are the MX6. I'll take your advice on stripping them down, thanks.
I pulled the bottom screws out to make sure I got all the fluid out. When I do that, is it ok to to put it back in through the top only? I'm still wondering why I lost rebound adjustment.

So rebound worked before you stripped them down?
I cant remember what the internals to be honest , but when you put the transmission fluid in the forks pump the cartridge to cycle the fluid through the internals.
From what i can remember the rebound is a small red dial on the right hand side and the left is a gold blank top cap.

Regarding the rebound i'm no sure , see if it was just the oil then the rebound would be permanently slow and slugish.

Any pics of the internals?

Also i would get some advice on the fluid levels needed to be put in.

Yeah rebound worked before. You're right about the red dial on the right. I'm thinkin all the fluid dumped out of the rebound cartridge and I need to turn it upside down and fill it back up. The rebound is too fast right now, there is no damping. I don't have any pics.

Well it should just fill up by pumping the cartridge?
So it is too fast with regular fork oil in it?
And it just does not slow down at all?

Yeah the compression is definitely stiffer but rebound is as if I have it turned all the way fast and can't slow it down by turning it either way.

I flipped the bike upside down, pulled the bottom screw on the adjustment side back out and poured a little ATF in. Flipped the bike back on it's wheels and compressed the fork a few times. Got the rebound adjustment back, problem solved!! Thanks for the help man.

Not sure if its the same but I owned a s-7 and they used hydraulic seals not a ordinary double lip bearing seal. If you go to a hydraulic shop that rebuilds cylinders for heavy machinery, hydraulic presses and such they will probably have the seals in stock, they are actually very common.

Very good idea , you can also have seals custom made.
Don't know how much that would be but if you buy in bulk , i'm sure lots of people would take them of your hands.

I would love a set of super star S8
