new bmx? noob bmx?

Both. Aged 38 I've just bought my first 20". With 2 small children I have been finding gettin out on mtb (let alone DH) bike too hard and very in frequent... whereas there's a decent BMX track literally 3 minutes from my house.

First meet last night. Didn't embarrass myself (too badly?) and even managed not to come dead last in 2 heats.

Loving it.

It's a GT power series XL - the 2011 old stock model (blue + white).

Got it from the lbs for a great price, had all the other gear already from DH so was a cheap start. Main goal is fitness... but this is waaay more fun than joining a gym.

Awesome Whoops. check the thread on old dudes riding trails too, there's a collection of us mid-30ers with kids still rockin the bmx/dirt joy. The track is definitely fun, there is often a nice community, the kids and Mrs can get into it. But to be honest, I have broken myself way harder at the track than at our local trails, so I've been stickin with the trails for the sake of riding longevity and health insurance co-pays .
