Its a sweet bike. The only thing I didn't like about the older Norcos is how loud they were. That big, hollow, top tube resonates sounds soooooo bad. I knew a few guys that couldn't stand it so they filled it with that foam spray. It helped a little but the bike was still loud.

I like it though.....

The funny part is I own one of em. Hollow mono frames get a nice echo chamber sound, like a guitar. Every noise is amplified; shifts, derailler 'clacking', creaks and good old fashioned bounced rocks into the downtube!

Noisy bikes not so bad, I hardly hear it over my trail bell!
I've gotten used to some of the cacophony in my rides. Its kinda like music...if you like metal.

i dont find it to be loud on when the cranks get dry it loud.

just replace the fork w/ something lighter and i think youll be set. maybe pick up a used 888, shiver, or 02 and older monster.
