Howdy all, wondering if conditions are still ok to ride Northstar this weekend and next. Next weekend (10/9 - 10/10) is the last weekend of the year but I'm also getting early snow reports (e.g., race in the snow report). I'd like to hit it one more time this year, but don't want to make the trip for nothing...any thoughts?

it will be fine. by the time this weekend rolls around you won't even be able to tell it snowed. i just checked the weather however and they are saying a chance of t-storms the next couple of days which could make riding this weekend great. sunny and 70 through the weekend though.

Good to hear, sounds like it'll be open and maybe the dust monsters will be tamed a little bit. :thumb:

Jeez Towne, thought you were the all-knowing omnipotent guru when it came to all things Northstar? Whaddaya mean you can't predict the weather? :D

What I meant was, do they close the lifts if it comes down a bit, does it have to be really bad, or what?

Horrible conditions? How so? When I went down the snow was really coming down but it was not collecting on the ground, only on our clothes and bikes. Everything was normal except for our freezing hands...

Ahh, it was a softie Socal rider, anything under 60 degrees is "horrible." Sounds like I'll need a little more layers than usual, most of the time it's just way hot in the summer up there...thanks
