There's a horse trail not too far from here, 34 miles of legal trail, none of which, as far as I can tell, has seen two wheels in over 5 years. So I thought I'd check it out. According to my horsey friends, there's three parts: the first (9 miles) sees a lot of use, the second (17 miles) sees some use, and the third (8 miles) is sometimes hard to even follow it sees so little use. I planned to do the whole thing, but due to mechanicals could only do the 17 mile section. Here's what I found:
Lots of single track on abandoned logging roads.
Some climbing (and descending, but that's too fun for pics)
Creek (and not so creek) crossings
Some mighty pretty places in the woods
And wildlife of course
What I didn't see was horses. Maybe they're on the other parts. I think I need to go back and take a look.
