Marketing hype sells bikes, but it doesn't win races. I set out a few months ago to design a 6061 road race frame with 4 goals in mind...

1. 1000gram frame weight.
2. ~$750 retail price.
3. 100% USA tubing and construction.
4. A smooth ride with plenty of vertical and horizontal deflection built in.


And here's the fruit of all that,
The Skeletor

With a Red build and the most excellent Edge fork my bike comes in at 15.2 pounds. That's light enough that it will be right at the weight limit if you swap the fulcrums for race wheels, and run a powermeter to make up the weight.


How's it ride? I can't describe it, without sounding both impartial, and insane...

In our less than un-biased opinions it is smoother riding than the TCR advance, Sworks Roubaix and IF Crown Jewels we have in the shop. And of course, it's really freaking light, but not overly stiff and dead feeling.

The fact that the weight per dollar ratio is considerably better than anything else out there, and that it's as domestic as possible is really just icing on the cake....

I mean there's nothing wrong with $10,000 bike made in China that are heavier and less comfortable, right?

I'll get around to doing a big update next week some time, but sloping sizes with 52, 54, 56, 58 effective top tubes is the game. Tubing, geometry, etc varies between sizes, but my 54 (49 center-top) is 73.5 seat, 73 head. We can ship black Ano end of next week, and powdercoated frames ~9 days from order. (Next run we'll be making odd's instead of evens)

Colors; Black Ano (stock), any color powder imagineable, +$60

Price, $750 for Ano, $810 powder. Frame and Edge 2.0 fork, $1,000.

Also, the thread title raises some questions - I am not exactly He-Man but I am about 6'1" and a pretty fit 200 lbs, and I ride fairly aggressively at times. You got any max rider weight or other thoughts?

No rider weight limit necessary on these, extra burritos are appreciated.

Angles are scaled, along with the tubing with sizing, but tt lengths are evens 52- 58.8, and seat angles are between 74 and 73, getting slacker as the sizes go up. Head angles scale from 72 on the small to 73.5 on the largest.
