Sorry for filling the board with useless stuff, but I figured this would be a good place to whore myself out. For those of you into "post-hardcore" music (aka Thrice, Atreyu, Taking Back Sunday, etc), if you're bored you should check out this band I play in. We're called Dramatic Still Life and we're not getting as many plays on Purevolume.com as we used to. So, deal with my spam and check the stuff out. I'm not a big fan of the screamy guy myself, but I'm an idiot anyway. www.purevolume.com/dramaticstilllife if you wanna. THANKS DOODS.

i like it, good stuff :thumb: ....but what the hell is post-hardcore and when did this dumb term come to be?

ooo my favorite new music term is 'scream-o'....Alexisonfire and Billy Talent 24/7......

what in the hell is going on, all this new mtv crap "emo/hardcore" what happened to the days of diy and seeing 5 bands for 3 bucks in a collective show space, buying 7 inches, printing zines and people making music for the sake of music... not to get rich and have a video on mtv.
still life <-- the real deal

Well originally the plan was to write a bunch of good music and focus on that, I think we're going to just try to write mediocre music and look the part to meet girls now.

well i was speaking about those bands like billy talent and all that crap i see on mtv everytime i flip by it. im sure their are still bands around that do it for the right reason but seeing a scene like the hardcore/emo scene get raped and drug out into the pop world is just something i hoped to never see.

Not really a huge fan of most "makeout metal"-bands, but that song "Motive" was pretty cool.
I still prefer Judge and the Cro-Mags though
btw: those into both Slayer and Swedish-style metal (preferably all at once) should have a gander (and listen a bit too) here: www.straightedge.nu/purified
awesome bunch of guys (and one of the singers likes to ride trials too) :thumb:

ahh, medio-core.....love that genre...
very good new sub-genre Zed, don't be surprised if that phrase actually starts getting used in mags soon. :thumb:

James, the music sounds good! I personally like the "screamy guy" but I think that the lead vocals could benefit from a reduction in "nasal" tones. His voice is very good, and not as nasal as many of this genre (think Chris from Saves although they never did "screamo") but still...

The music reminds me of older Thursday (full collapse) and maybe a little bit of Finch (sorry if that's bad, I think they're ~ so-so)

For something that you guys aren't fully dedicated to it sounds REALLY good!

Is there more material, full album? I'd be interested... :D

Medio-core
It's not forsaken
The music they're makin'
Will leave you with a
Feeling of indifference
How was the band?
They were okay (okay, all right)
Not great, but pretty good
They played the songs I knew they would

Some old, some new
The same the formula stays true
We can't concur
It's Mediocre

Sing
Sing a song
Make it simple
So all the kids can sing along
Sing along

The list keeps growin'
The melodies been stolen
Remind me of songs sung in the 70's
You might fool the kids
But you don't fool me
Have you ever heard of something called
aboriginality

Is it absurd
To compose music no one's ever heard
Predictability
Like a bossom will comfort them
My one true foe
L.C.D.
Medio-core
It's underpowered
Their riffs are all deflowered (Medio-core)
Spreading faster
Than British tooth decay (Medio-core)
Are you ready to rock?
How are you all doin tonight?
You condescending ****s (Medio-core)
Make me wanna laugh and puke at the same time
(Medio-core)
I want to speak
This song sounds like 15
You've heard before
Medio-core

Sing
Sing a song
Make it simple
So all the kids can sing along
Sing along
thats a really badass song. however, i cant open purevolume right now, but im sure you stuff it's teh rockin James.
