hello, im new on these forums and am thinking of building up a street/urban mountain bike, mostly for bmx-style freestyle kinda stunts :\
im currently stuck between the NS SubUrban and the TonicFab FallGuy,
any suggestions? (oh yeah i think the FallGuy is gonna cost alot T_T)
also, how much would it cost to build up a complete bike with either frame?
im getting a 24" one by the way, and please specify parts; thanks for the help:-)

there are more street-specific frames out there, like the USB Molly or the NS Capital.

Should be:

Capital v. Tonic

However, similar geo doesn't equal similar quality of welds/metal, detal, etc. The wallet sometimes speaks louder than quality. Most people know what there getting when it comes to quality v. cost, a part spec should be on you dude. Your preference and budget.

The most expensive part on your bike is the frame (typically). I remember buying a cheap M300 and upgrading parts as I could, it really didn't matter though, it still wasn't that great for what I wanted it for. Now a nice frame with so so parts, it has the potential. If I was you I would buy the Tonic, use parts you have and upgrade when you can. Eventually you should be at something you really like.

thanks guys,
but anyways, so the capital is a better street/stunts kinda frame
than the SubUrban? :\
also - should i use rigid forks or suspensions? (for the Capital and others)
and im not sure if i can afford getting the Tonic,
-getting a complete bike with the Capital/SubUrban frame would be alot cheaper(?)
thanks for the help again:-)

EDIT: oh yeah sorry but what are the main differences between the SubUrban
and Capital frames that everyone is favouring the Capital over the SubUrban?
(besides the fact that the Capital can fit Spanish BBs :\)

oh and do all street mountain bikes(for freestyle stunts) use rigid forks?
i was browing through RideSteet forums and many seem to have rigid forks instead :\
once again - any major differences? (besides handling)

thanks guys :D

EDIT YET AGAIN: omg sorry but last question - what's the main difference
between riding with 24" and 26" wheels? and the impact on stunts, etc.

thanks!

You don't have to be rigid, I run an Argyle 409 with enough air in it to keep it from moving on anything but big hits. I run 24" wheels because they feel more like a 20". The bike sits lower, I don't scrub my but as much as I would on a 26", it flicks and spins better. If your looking to ride MTB style trails then you might want to stay with 26", they roll better over obstacles, but if mostly your going to ride street, park, djs, and a little trail stuff, I would go with 24".

If your talking about the NS frames I'm not the guy to talk to.

As for the fork, if your dropping stuff or whatever a little cush is good. It will save you in some situations, save your body from taking so much of a beating, and save your bike in the long run (less likely to break stuff). There are down sides, but most forks set up with a low A2C are pretty strong.
