Giving a damn about tricks on a mountainbike is regression. Especially 5-6 year old bmx tricks that an army of 14 year olds across the world do, without film cameras and helicopters to document it.

Tricks are for kids.
****ty music, fake breasts and macho chest thumping are also for kids(or those with the mental capacity thereof).
And the kids aren't alright. NWD10 should just be 45 minutes of tips on how to wear a flat brim hat set to a super progressive nu-metal soundtrack. It can have some nauseating closeups of people nearly putting their hats on at the correct angle, but then cutting away before it blows up into a cloud of dandruff and papercuts.

You know what would be truly "progressive"? Reality, perspective and taste.
Whaaaa, they don't ride the same type of bikes as me. Whaaaa.

Go on back to your single speed, steel road bikes with rainbows and unicorns dude. :nopity:

Yes, let's all lay down and "get used to it". Screw that. Let's get pissed. At least we die a little less inside. Yes, it's true, slow-motion bike riding makes me die a little inside. Less than cancer, but hey, actually, cancer is progressive, isn't it? All those cells just replicating out of control! Last year it was just a single cancerous cell, this year it is more than 3 million!
Whoa, a replicating cancer like cell? You mean like yet another company producing only steel hardtails and trying to be ultra retro chic cool about it?

My road bikes have 20 speeds. And they are hella progressive custom draw acroynm rich 6061. And my steel bikes use the latest and greatest in German designed 3 speed coasterbrake technology.

So, this begs the question;
Why are we supposed to think this NWD video is any less lame than the previous one? Because it shares sponsorship with Freecaster, The Athertons and Worldcup series?

Yes, that's exactly it. Back to your steel hardtails. You know, the ones that everyone else is making and trying to be cool about. Progression, you keep it up.

Oh and before you try and be smart, check your facts, because in one sentence you made more than a few errors.

That's right man, fight the power! Stand up and protest against this horrid cinematic production. Musical scores that aren't found in your vinyl collection? WTF are they thinking? I'm not sure why they didn't confer with someone as experienced as yourself before they started producing this. What's this, amateur hour? I'm with you on this one. I don't like watching guys sail over 60' step downs, pull twisted inverted tricks, drift corners at speeds usually reserved for Moto GP bikes, or talk about the sport in any way. In protest I'm giving up riding gravity assisted forever. We'll get on our single speed lugged bikes and show these no talent ass clowns what real progression is.

Um, it's bike porn, what's up with taking it so seriously? It is what it is, no more and no less: Silly testosterone-fueled asshattery, a few "lifestyle" moments robbed from The Collective, and a bunch of rad riding. I won't buy it but I'll watch it.

As to SuspectDevice's take on NWD's latest. I think them adding some DH and Atherton stuff just shows that they are listening to their consumers. Adding more DH to what is normally a Utah huck fest isn't such a a bad thing in my opinion.

Well mate,

If you think you are so on to it go and make your own film about what you think we all should be watching to get excited about in MTB.:monkeydance:

I am sure you would sell at least 2 copies, one for you and there must be at least one other angry fool out there.

P.S. take a left turn at the traffic lights to the 80's, and stay there.:lighten:

Regards,

LBL:biggrin:

most of the threads on RM have been angry and unhappy lately. At least this one is funny, serious or not

I never thought a huck movie would bring sam hill fanboys and haters together.

I guess at the end of the day, there's one thing everybody can agree on. Robbie Bourdon doing a gigantic 50 foot 360 16 times and actually sticking the landing once is cool.

Well I for one like what I see so far and probably buy it , I like to support the industry and people who make a living out of it, they work dam hard like everyone else don't see why people got to knock that all the time!

2nd it looks pretty good to me, maybe peeps getting too exposed they forget how incredible all aspects of our sport is!

Geez its a $40 DVD is that gonna kill ya esspecially compared to the cost of the bike ya probably rocking, for christ's sake:bonk:!

Everyone's got to a smart arse all the time and by knocking other people grow up, have fun but not at people who put back! if ya don't like the vid then fine but at least wait until its released, no doubt peeps just jealous of others making a living the hard way and from what they love doing, least they had the gutz to take a risk and put themselves out there!

Dam this sport is about making people get some stoke!!

Just do it and let rip some good times for a change, this thread should be amped at whats coming!

I'm certainly not 'into' NWD vids nor the riding within. However, that clip looked nothing short of amazing.
The camerawork is stunning and the riding, well, I've never seen anything like it.
I think I'll buy it.

I like Bicycles! Do you like bicycles? My friend Peter can do a pop-a-wheelie!!!

Mute, FF, not buying the video -- these are all options. Theres lots of stuff to dislike/hate in the world, not so much use in focussing on that.

Kittens? Flowers? Ladies with big.....? Lots of better ways to use your energy!
