So i just ordered up 3 new pairs of RX oakleys. (woohoo).

I am just curious if anyone here has worn or wears race jackets with a full face helmet? I am blind as a bat without glasses and cant get goggles to fit comfortably over ANY glasses (i have tried just about everything). So these seem like the perfect solution, that and they were dirt cheap even with my RX thanks to oakley.

Ooooooh, you mean Rx (aka prescription). All I could think of was that RX was a new model of Oakley goggle or something. Sweet, my brain is lagging today.

ya, rx as in prescription. AKA fraser won't be as blind as a bat glasses. Wiretaps, unknowns and race jackets are on their way in all their oakley glory in about 7-15 days.

What kind of prescription do you have? I'm looking at the prescription frames, but I'm not sure my coke bottle lenses will work in any of them except maybe the women's ones...

The Race Jackets are the best you can get. IMO. I had mine since 2001 and still going stong. I ordered mine in the clear lense for more use. They are more comfortable then goggles and don't fog as much.

For clear everyday RX i have E wire 2.1 (SOOOOOO comfy), have had em for about 3 years.

I just ordered wiretaps in clear RX, unknowns in fire for sunglasses and race jackets in clear to ride in.

My Rx is weak albeit it odd. They cannot make contacts to clear up my issues.

RX:

OD: -1.00, -1.50, 95 PD: 28.0
OS: -0.25, -1.75, 90 PD: 28.5

If you have huge lenses, you may want to look at the soft tiop and chop top stuff. The E wires i think can also take a pretty huge list..hang on let me find my guide from oakley.

from +2.0 to -7.0 you can have these models.

O-1 ( 48 / 19 )
Off Line 2.0
O-2 (48/19, 50/19)
Off Line 4.0
O-6
Off Line 6.0
O-7
Staight Line 2.0
Mag 4
Staight Line 4.0
Mag 4S
Straight Line 6.0
Cosine
Yardstick 2.0
Tangent
Yardstick 4.0
Sine
Yarkstick 6.0
O Wire
Yardstick 8.0
Chain 2.0
Box Spring 2.0
Chain 4.0
Box Spring 4.0
Chain 6.0
Chop Top 2.0
Halo
Chop Top 4.0
Soft Top 2.0
Chop Top 6.0
Soft Top 4.0

Teh A wire, C wire and E wires, wiretap and four series all go from +2 to -5

I don't have a prescription handy, but I know in -5.75 in my right eye and -6.00 in the left...I have an eye exam tomorrow though, so that might change :D

I pretty much need a small lens too...otherwise I get a fishbowl effect.

look above, massive huge edit with all the frame styles that will work on you. Those are JUST the RX stuff, the sports specific and o matter stuff is on a case by case basis, depends on the seperate sphere and cylinder of your RX

what about the adidas elevation sunglasses ?? somebody using them + RX adaptors with helmet instead of goggles?? i just tried a set at the LBS and the pad seems to protect the eyes from dust and sweat, seems that it can work very well instead of goggles over glasses

I have race jackets that fit good in my Thor SVR moto helmet. I just got a new Fox Pro Pilot that I haven't tried them in yet. The fit was tight but tolerable in my 661 full Bravo helmet I used to wear before I relized how much more protection you get with the moto helmet.

I have a -3.75 prescription and wear contacts. I get tunnel vision with my glasses. I can't stand to even drive with them. I really need to get laser surgery since it is getting better. At least one race a year I finish with a dried out folded up contact.

I can't wear contacts. Besides the reaction factor from my eye (optometrist said overly strong eyelids?, glad something on me is overly strong), they cannot make an RX thatwill accurately clean up my vision due to the distortion i have from concussions.

I know the jackets fit well in TLD lids, so I am just hoping they fit nicely in my dainese one. The bestfit i have ever felt with glasses was in a vigor vamoose 2 ironically. I could even fit my Ewires in without a problem.

Now if only I didn't have to wait 7-15 days. I want my glasses dammit!

Transcend - how much did you pay for the lenses? I've got a Half Jacket frame on the way, and I'm shopping around for the best prices on RX lenses.

I get mine direct from oakley on a sponsorship deal, but your local optometrist should be able to do most oakley frames for around $60-150. I am not sure if they can do halfjackets tho as they are removable lenses. Also, you will not have original oakley factory lenses, which tend to be much clearer then Nikon or other aftermarket lenses.

Wade Bootes rides with racing jackets with a full face. Aztomac on the forum rides with Giro Madmax with racing jackets sometimes.

wade also gets paid to put up with the annoyingness, should they not fit in there right! I also think he is one of the kooks who wears racing jkackets without lenses sometimes..weirdo.

Seems to be the general opinion that they work well tho, so woohoo.

D'oh! The Oakley store today said that they couldn't do my lenses at all. Too bad, because I really like the Soft Top 2.0s...

I'm checking with my friend at Oakley now...hopefully the guy at the O Store didn't know what he was doing, or maybe another lab can grind them to fit that frame.

oakley can do pretty much anything in house. They do my wacky ass RX even. the cylinder is off 90 degs in one eye and 180 in the other, I'm a freak. If oakley cant do it, no one can.
