I called to order a pair and they said they were sized pretty small. I wear an XL Troy Lee. Does anyone know if they run smaller than TLD, or about the same?

not sure about the TLD sizing...but I wear and own Med 661's, Med Fox's and Med Oakley's - the Oakley's are definitely on the tight side and needs breaking in.

I wear a Large in Fox gloves and a Large in Oakleys. As Acadian mentioned, the Oakleys are a little tighter, but I wouldn't go up a size.

I don't deal with Oakley stuff, and no one around here carries the gloves so I have to order them. Oh well, I guess i'll take a chance and go 1 size up like Oakley reccomended. Cause there are some XL gloves that I don't fit into.

i wear a L Fox, and went with a L Oakley. they fit snug, but the tumb is a little long.

if you're familiar with golf glove sizing, i would alternate between a L and a Cadet L.

Save your money.

A friend of mine has a pair and they fell apart. He took them back to the "Oakley" store he bought them from and they said they didn't handle warranty service.

IMO all gloves fall apart sooner or later....

the thinner they are - the more comfortable they are, but they tear easily

thick gloves might last a little longer, but very uncomfortable IMO.

Mobius is correct -- I wear XL everything else, and an XL Oakley will not fit me.

Jesus -- do they make XXL Oaks? I might be tempted to try those.... although Sketchy's fell apart in a matter of a couple of months. That's okay for the $20 661's, that's NOT okay for an $80 pair of gloves.

I've got a friend with the same thing going on - I love their shorts - but I'd be real hesitant to spend that kind of cash on a pair of gloves that lasted about 3 months.

TOTALLY AGREE, they do run small, i used to ride med fox, so i got med oakley...they are a bit tight esp after i wash them. If you are an XL i would be concerned if any fit. Try to work something out though, they are the best gloves i have ever owned :thumb:

I wear med Fox, size 8 Azonic, and I like large Oakleys. BUT I gotta say that I'm off Oakley gloves. I'm on my 3rd pair, and while they are really comfy, they are just too delicate. Unless you NEVER crash.

I went down a couple of weeks ago, wearing my new Oakley gloves (worn once) and they are now torn. And I didn't go down hard. I was barely moving....around a "hairpin"... and my tire slipped out. So basically I just tipped over and I put my hand down onto a rock. I hardly even felt it. I was so pissed. So no more oakley gloves for me...

FYU, I finally got my gloves and the XXL fits perfect, so a size smaller seems to be the norm.

No rides on them yet, but damn do they look good!

Watch that "spandex-mesh" material in the palm -- I checked out a pair this weekend; basically the mesh got a small tear in it, and boom -- no more palm basically. The stuff just disappears if it gets a tear. Kinda cheesy.

I washed AND dried mine. They don't fit anymore. Yes they fit a little more snugly than Fox but I like that. They didn't show any signs of wear but now they're useless because they are too tight to fit across the knuckes (where there is no give due to the carbon fiber deal).

Dont put them in the dryer.

ya..I never put mine in the dryer. They do feel a tad tight after every wash, but I simply hang them to dry.

like DßR said, mine also tore in the palm...the mesh fabric is pretty fragile.

guess there is yet another option for next year - appears to be the same as the Oakley but with the RaceFace logo and what appears to be a different wrist closure.

And what bugs me is that they don't HAVE to be that way. The two pieces of black..Kevlar(?) on the heel of your palm should be once continuous piece. I asked Oakley about it once and he says it was done to way to give your hand more freedom to flex or some such nonsense. Never once while holding onto my grips, have I ever had the need to touch the tip of my thumb to the tip of my pinky.

Kevlar patches held together with pantyhose. Awesome....

I was looking at pictures for the World Championships and noticed that Cedric G. was wearing some carbon knuckle 661's! :thumb: that means we might see some from them next year. I love 661 gloves - adding a carbon gloved to their lineup would be cherry!!
