With the weather forecast showing high 70's we jumped at the chance to ride in Oakridge last weekend. We took our trailer and dog and camped down by the river!
Day one ride was a 4 mile section along the river, an 8 mile climb to the snowline followed by an equal 8 miles of super swoopy fast sidehill downhill! We had to hike through about 1/2 mile of ankle deep snow at the top but the rest was dry. I've taken some Monkey's on this ride before (Echo, Toninator, Deyv, Ghostrider, and Isa). SUPER FUN.
Day two was a nice jaunt along the river followed by a technical loop of rocks and roots, a crawling climb up "the wall", and then a whooping descent down a trail called Hecklestooth. The wall is a ridiculously steep climb in granny gear for about 35 minutes straight, no relenting. It is brutal and keep in mind I like to climb!
