As long as they can still buy maxi pads for the altar boys so that the blood from a torn anus doesn't show up on the white robes of the child, the bishops will be happy.
On this contraceptive thing, my Gosh it’s such [sic] inexpensive. You know, back in my days, they used Bayer aspirin for contraception. The gals put it between their knees, and it wasn’t that costly.

WOW! Just wow..... that committee meeting was third world banana republic politics.
Seriously that was worthy of Mugabe's best efforts..... Or even Gaddafi era Libya.
What cracked me up was the Catholic priest that called the plan to provide coverage "draconian". Really? The church that dictates sex and procreation to it's congregation has the balls to call anything draconian?
...Senator Brown now supports legislation that would allow employers to impose their beliefs on employees. Senator Brown has cosponsored an extreme measure known as the Blunt Amendment, which would allow any employer to deny coverage for any health care service--not just contraception, but things like HIV testing, cervical cancer, fertility treatment, genetic testing, and more--by citing "religious beliefs or moral convictions."
I swear, this has "idiot-right-wing-mating-call" written all over it, where the Obama administration sends up a signal and gets the right-wing crazies to come out of the woodwork. Good thing, too, since a recent poll had Scott Brown up by ~9pts over Elizabeth Warren. Can't wait to see how this will play out with the liberal votes in Massachusetts.
By the way, fvck Bill Nelson. He's the only Democratic Senator signing on to this garbage (so far), and it's how Brown is claiming that it's a "bipartisan amendment". I'm pretty sure that the Senate is actually going to allow this to come up for a vote, hoping that any defections by the Democrats (Nelson, possibly one or two other conservatives) would be cancelled out by Snowe/Collins/Murkowski. It's a little too close for comfort, but it's yet another piece of legislation that the Democrats can hang around the necks of Republicans come November...
Edit: More fun graphics, showing how bad of a decision this is for the Republicans - And this is between Obama and Romney, not Rick "contraception is wrong and states should be allowed to ban it" Santorum.
Be fair, now. He does have some. It's just that they come wrapped with huge dose of bat**** reactionary, in a package marked "Not for individual sale."
