Odd Hope Disc Brake problem

I have a set of the Hope Mono mini's and I am having the worst time dialing in the front rotor size.

I am currently running a 170mm avid rotor that has fit the best so far but when the wheel is completely topped out in the fork dropouts the top edge of the rotor will rub the top of the caliper (as the rotor is 1mm to big in dia.)
I have run a standard 6" on it in the past but you can only get 2/3 of pad contact.
I was hoping that someone on here was running these and could tell me what rotor (or adapter) they are using.

(I have the Hope 8" adapter for it but once again the 8" rotor will only contact part of the pads like a 6" w/o an adapter)

Hopefully I can figure something out with a common rotor as I have a million 6, 7, and 8" rotors laying around.

Need more info on setup. What fork, what year/ caliper number, and what size rotors do you actually have? Nobody actually makes 6" rotors, most are 160mm, Avid did some 165s, 7" can mean 180, 183, 185, etc. Get your ruler out.
