Ok I bought this swinger and did not realize until it was too late that one of the mounting eyelets is tiny and does not have a bushing. I'm not sure what bike it came off of but it is going on an Intense M-1. I was wondering if I can drill it out and what diameter hole would fit a standard bushing/bearing. or if I can purchase standard hardware somewhere. Thanks.

Unfortunately mate, it seems as though you are going to have to go to quite lengthy (and consequently expensive) measures to make the shock work with your M1. I would suggest selling it and buying a 'normal' swinger without the smaller eyelet.

I don't beleive you could simply drill out a larger bore for a bottom eyelet, as firstly, unless you had access to a mill, the precision is more than likely going to be crap, which will consequently wear out your reducers at a less than acceptable rate, as well as cause all sort of allignment issues with your frame.

Another reason is that, you don't really have any idea about how this shock is designed (in relation to tolerances) That rebound adjuster might prove to be too close to that hole to bore it out, meaning that if you did, you may end up with a nasty suprise in the form of 5wt oil everywhere. To me, it looks as if there isn't even enough material around the eyelet to enlarge it any further. So if it were me, I would be looking at....

1. Selling the shock and buying another secondhand
2. Getting an assesment/quote from an engineering firm as to whether they can rectify the problem for a fee that is not outrageous.
3. Contacting Manitou and seeing if they can hook you up with a new shaft/bottom eyelet assembly. Of course you will also have to factor in the cost of a service to change the two shafts if you go down this road.
