So I was poking around on my computer and I decided to make a pic kind of on a whim. I then posted this pic on my facebook page as my profile pic. Many of my friends sent me pissed messages about the image but some thought it was funny. A few even accused me of setting back the black movement. What do you think?

mutha****as shouldn't have the apostrophe, therefore it is offensive to the English language

I had no clue how influential facebook and/or internet gifs are towards the progression of the black movement. However, the fact that you have uptight friends does not surprise me. I think the picture is funny, but I don't take myself seriously and a lot of my humor could be considered degradative to all movements.

oddly enough many of my Canadian friends thought it was "rude"
are they also perpetually politically correct, or are they offended by ribald language, or easily offended by any humo(u)r at the expense of a non-white?

I found it funny. But I voted for him and I am white, so I don't know if that matters.

I think all stereotypes are funny and I would say that was just playing up the stereotype.

If it was on Chris Rocks website, i would think it's funny.

If it was on some skinhead website, it wouldn't be funny.

Since I saw it randomly and didn't know the source, I assume it has good intension's and gave a slight laugh and said hell yeah.

I realize I'm not the smartest person around but why would it be offensive?

It's ment as a joke right?

We know that Obama probably doesn't talk like that (just a guess). That's what makes it funny. If he talked like that, he wouldn't be in the position he is (again, just guessing..)

soon after obama was declared the winner i decided to set "bush/cheney 2012, keep the dream alive" as my status for kicks. apparently some of my more liberal friends and relatives don't understand the concept of sarcasm so i got some angry messages from them.
