I've yet had a Japanese whiskey I really liked.Not bad. Had some Woodford double-oaked that was quite tastey. Now have some variety of Japanese Whiskey that is supposed to be the ****, but it's not as good as the Woodford IMO. Edit: HIbiki.

Based on my brief time spent in Vermont last summer, that stuff was the goto default when on tap. Delicious.
And for whatever reason, gin seems to be the go-to during the pandemic. Well, that and beer. Started with G&Ts made with Hendrick’s several days ago, but polished off that bottle so we’re slumming it with Bombay Sapphire now.Just had an extra dry filthy gin martini with a lemon twist.
My personal favorite buck is a Tijuana Donkey. Similar to your recipe above, but sub in a nice reposado in lieu of the rye.Happy hour seems to arrive just a bit earlier every day... Today we're into some Kentucky mules with fresh ginger beer, rye, and a little lime.
