i cobbled together songs off what i thought were notable records of '07. i didn't include songs from all the stuff i'd listed, because some of the stuff (esp long, somewhat difficult-listening songs from Sunn O))), Sapat, and Twinsistermoon) wouldn't lend themselves to be viewed kindly in this format.

so, here it is, broken into two zip files (each about ~70MB or so)

Boris with Michio Kurihara - You Laughed Like A Water Mark [Rainbow].mp3
Dungen - Ska Inte Tro Alt Det Ordnar Sig [Tio Bitar].mp3
Earth - Coda Maestoso in F (Flat) Minor [Hibernaculum].mp3
Electrelane - Saturday [No Shouts No Calls].mp3
Emma Pollock - If Silence Means That Much To You [Watch the Fireworks].mp3
Glenn Jones - Cady [Against Which the Sea Continually Beats].mp3
Go Team - Keys To The City [Proof of Youth].mp3
Grails - Dead Vine Blues [Burning Off Impurities].mp3
Gravenhurst - Hollow Men [The Western Lands].mp3
Jason Isbell - Try [Sirens in the Ditch].mp3
Marc Ribot - Mufgar [Asmodeus The Book of Angels, Vol. 7].mp3
Marissa Nadler - Rachel [Songs III Bird on the Water].mp3
Meg Baird - All I Ever Wanted [Dear Companion].mp3
Neurosis - Hidden Faces [Given to the Rising].mp3
Sebadoh - Punch in the Nose [The Freed Man].mp3
Sir Richard Bishop - Elysium Number Five [Polytheistic Fragments].mp3
Tanakh - Marcel Proust [Saunders Hollow].mp3
Terminals - Creepers [Last Days Of The Sun].mp3
The Golden Boys - Yeah I Wanna Know [Whiskey Flower].mp3
Voxtrot - Kid Gloves [Voxtrot].mp3

well i hope people dig at least some of this concoction...it's pretty varied, so there's gotta be at least something for everyone (no hip-hop, though).

So far after a few listens the Emma Pollock and Marc Ribot songs stand above the rest, at least in my mind. Thanks again Narlus.

Narlus,
I just went through the tracks you put together. Excellent work!

Most of this music isn't on my typical musical axes, so all but one or two artists I'd never even heard of before. Needless to say, I loved it... especially enjoyed Meg Baird, Sir Richard Bishop, Tanakh, Glenn Jones and Grails.

Time to hit up Amoeba (http://www.amoeba.com/) and emuisc!

Thanks again.

Great... glenn's stuff was wonderful. Similar in nature to the stuff I end up playing late at night on my piano and synths.

If I enjoyed something this much and didn't express my gratitude I'd be a real dick... Big thanks. I have an upcoming road trip that your hard work will serve me well on. Thanks.
