Out of curiosity.......why a steel set?

Nice choice in brakes though:thumb:
Three reasons...
1. My friends bought it for me on my birthday...nothing quite like free stuff!
2. I had one in my V10 and liked it, but had to leave it in the frame when I sold it.
3. Nicolai actually builds thier frames with a deep-cup steel headset in mind. Have you seen thier "fett Sett"? Those things are ridiculous.

Those brakes are going to be like yours with the red cap on the caliper. Sweet huh?

They are going to be sweet, first of all they have the split rotors, and then I'm putting the steel-braided cables on 'em. They were "used once, literally" so I got them a little cheaper.
And to my defense of copy cat, I actually ordered them BEFORE you posted that you had them. Of course there is no way to prove that...

Why steel braided? The new Hope ones? Unless your stock lines are too short or damaged, I wouldn't waste the $. Are you still waiting for ther bore caps? They should be in stock.

Steel braided lines apparently are way better than the stock ones, and yeah they are the new ones from hope. The caps are already in the brakes.

I find that 8" of travel front and rear, slack angles and a 38t front chainring climbs the best.
Are you sure you'll be able to get 8" rear travel? Unless Karl's changed the design since he built mine (it's tough to tell from the pics, but it doesn't look like it) the 8" travel setting is not usable without the frame self-destructing. Mine actually came ghetto locked-out (set screw in the shock-bolt hole) from the factory. This was a while ago, though, and I'd say I can't imagine the design not being changed, but there's a lot that has come out of that factory that I can't believe.

No, I specifically got a different rear triangle in order to run 8". I can't run a F. Der ever tho...so I guess that was the trade off they made. 6 or 7 with F. der mount or 6, 7, or 8 without it. When I get it I will measure it all out and take pics for anyone interested.

Sweet Bro! We'll have to session "Your_Name_Here" when you get it all set up. :thumb:
I finally have a bike that is as fancy as yours...almost. :D

I'm getting so friggin desparate, I don't have any Mtn bikes to ride right now. I put my CX tires on my road bike last night and sprinted up to the DC water towers at like 11:00 last night with no lights.

 SKETCH.

very nice indeed!

I'm liking the new design allot. and being able to get the full travel without a 24 inch wheel is definately cool, so I guess 24's have run their course all over the world. I've got the 04 and it's only at 7 inches with a 26. But meh, it suits the 7 inch sherman slider on it right now quite perfectly.

You'll like it allot, and I dont need to tell you how well these bikes are built and how well they stand up to abuse. I've had 3 to play with, and even after 3 years of hardcore abuse, are still running strong in the hands of others. I'd even dare to say better than most bikes after a few months of equal abuse.

Edit, just saw the UFO  (when I get out of school I'll get one)

Rabie :nopity: lol

here's a pic of Caro racing on the helius
