My shiver SC is close to your fork.

If it is a 5" travel fork i think it is 2" from the top of the shock (where you have to open the legs up to the top. I can't remember if it is 2" compressed or uncompressed.

I know I added a tad more oil, maybe .25" more to each leg and wow that stiffened things up (also added Heavy springs) to the fork. Now it doesn't bottom so easily yet I still get the nice plush travel.

Use Golden Spectro oil (marz factory) you can get from a moto shop. I think it is like 10-14 a quart instead of $18 for a tiny 8oz container. After seeing what 9 months did to my oil (very black, but was 1st time changing) it is such a basic easy maintence thing. I thought it was hard from what it sounds like but is way easy. I could change oil now with a bike stand in less than 20 minutesin both legs, all nuts torqued, and ready to go.

I used a zip tie cut to 2 inches to measure the oil height.

The oil level for the ECC side is 50mm from top of stanchion to top of
oil
compressed. Don't lose the little pin and spring on the top cap! The
negative side takes 65cc. of oil. You can't remove the top cap on that
side to do the oil heighth measurement.
