Oil type/level ?

Ive got a 01' Z.3 QR20 that had a crack in the arch upper part, so I switched said part with that of another marzocchi fork I had, broken as well, just not that part. And, of course I had to drain the oil to do this. Its the first time ive really done anything this invasive with a fork and was wondering what type of oil and how much oil do I need to put in it?

Marz. uses Golden Spectro oil, available at your local moto shop. Any fork oil will do - I like Bel-Ray.

I believe 5wt oil comes stock.

As for oil heights, you'll need to consult the manual. I'm pretty sure Marz. has a whole bunch of manuals on their site.

I thought they were always filled with 7.5wt. I've had great luck with Silkoline racing fork oil - makes it better than new.

For exact amounts of oil used, download the specific tech manual from the Marzocchi web site.

I personally use Bel-Ray, mostly because it's what's readily available at the Honda shop, 7.5 wt. for my Z.1. I've had real good luck with it in Marz forks.

5w does come stock, but I've found that I get a more controlled feel with the higher vis. oil. It just seems to feel a bit better. As far as oil height, if you get an '01 Manual off the zoke site, you'll get the levels. The '03 and newer manuals are basically useless.

Manual says 7.5W. I used 7W and didn't notice difference - but it was at a much lower level (~60mm stock).

Although rare, don't get expanding type oil, as this will blow up the seals (like a baloon), adn ruin them.

The height is 50MM from top. fully compressed and with spring out (da, since you can't see leve with them in).
