I put a bunch of applications on a portable harddrive (i.e. Quicken) that has always been considered the E: drive when I plug it into the USB port. For some reason it now wants to be called the F: drive and some of the apps aren't opening. Does anyone know how I can change this back to E: drive?

Right click on "My Computer" and select "Manage"

Click on "Disk Management" under "Storage"

Select the drive, right click and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths"

Right click on the disk, and tell it to use E: as the path.

One thing you need to worry about is if you've done any installs of new programs that are looking for something on that drive on another path. If you haven't, you should be fine now.

Part of the reason I'm leaving is due to a 50 minute commute, why would I want to do that right out of the chute?
