So Americn Idol final was last night.

There was quasi-cute girl and ugly girl. Ugly girl won. I however just learned that she's a teenage mom. (And they went to such lengths to talk about how active she was in the church chior....obviously a very devout christian!)

So should she be "idolized"?

"Mommy! I want to have a baby just like ...<ugly girl>"

I dont think she should be "idolized" for her life choices or her looks. I guess she can sing and is a better entertainer than the hot fatty she was up against. Teenage moms shouldnt be anyone's idol, however.

Do you have a tattoo that says Craftsman? Cuz you're quite the tool ;) :D

You don't really think any teenage girl will idolizer her and have a kid, do ya? Stop watching reality TV, it's rotting your brain :blah:

Speaking of condescending ex pat aussies - where is the real deal these days? You are a poor substitute for whatever is name was... don't let that keep you from feeling superior though, we all need our moments.

I'm not going to comment on the ugliness factor.

IMO, no she shouldn't. She SHOULD be an example to Christian girls of what NOT to do. What a wonderful testimony she displayed on TV for everyone.............not!

If she is in fact a Christian then she is forgiven for that "stuff", I'm cool with that and don't hold it against her. But getting on national TV and telling everyone your a teenage mom (not married I presume) and a Christian. So I guess she missed the Sunday they taught about sexual immorality and respecting yourself...................  (now that I have permission to use 2 rolleyes in a row.........LOL)

Anyway, that kind of sits with me wrong.

WTF kind of name is "Fantasia"? Someone who names their kid that needs to be slapped.

There is a place in Connecticut called "Fantasia." It's a wedding hall which is about the cheesiest place anyone would want to have a wedding. You know, it's got the glitter, flashing lights, lots of pink colors. Personally, I'd rather have my wedding at the local VFW hall.

"Fantasia" named her kid ZION for chrissakes. Sorry, but Zion is a Star Trek name.

Then Fantasia's mom should be slapped, Fantasia should be slapped, and you might as well go ahead and slap ZION because he (I'm assuming it's a he) is probably going to name his kid "Destiny" or some dumb sh*t.

You know what, the more I thought about my response the more I think that I should have thought more about the situation before I shot my mouth off. Thank you Golgi and SM for "calling me on the carpet" so to speak.

I must admit I struggle with this.

Personally if she was in my community of beleivers, I would love her and probably do things like mow her lawn, change her oil and stuff like that (Bible says we are to care for widows, which I think are today's single moms). I guess because she professed to be a Christian I tend to be a bit more critical, which I should not be (the whole log in my eye while I concentrate on the speck of sawdust in my brothers/sisters eye).

I guess what bothers me, and I am conflicted with is what kind of example is she setting for other Christian teenage girls. She has an awesome opportunity to really be a postive role model for young women, I hope she uses it well.

I'm not perfect, no Christian is (I know the big cop out you guys hate), this whole thing is a journey, and I am learning along the way..............today was a learning experince, and exposed an area in my life I need to examine against what my Rabbi would do.

Thanks again guys..........you were alot more kind than you should have been, you could have really "slammed the door" on me.

Have a good weekend.
