I love my front. The Mono m4 also works well for the rear where less breakng power is needed...

Holy online ordering batman, you made your decision in about 30 minutes based on one opinion that came from somebody sponsored by hope!!! I doubt that you'll be dissapointed though, Hope brakes have too many cheerleaders on this board to be any worse than the other options out there.

OUCH Bro :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: ,I have been thinking about them for a while and I can afford a mistake ,but I have to believe on Brian MCM ,cause he always liked his Hopes ,and praises them daily :eviltongu :eviltongu :eviltongu :eviltongu :eviltongu :eviltongu ,BTW the have to be better than my old XT Hydro`s I have been running forever :eviltongu :eviltongu,Alos I have ran Hayes and Shimano`s so this is the best for last right :sneaky:,Oh yeah I can ride my mountains here

Well, I'd like to agree having brought a 6pot f 4pot r , but i was utterly dissapointed with both of them.

My new Saint brakes with goodridge on the the otherhand are superb, excellent feel, no problems and plenty of power.

I wish I did, but sadly not and most of my problems where not setup issues. I had big problems with the seals ( i went through 2 mono4 calipers) they'd quite literally pop. The seals on the mono6 where better but i was getting a small leak there too.

I never found the front mono6 to be that powerful despite using EBC reds disc facing tool etc etc , and having woody from hope try to work his magic on it.

I snapped 2 banjos over the course of the season but im prepared to put that down to bad luck.

All 4 my discs developed play and were warrentied by hope before i sold the brakes.

Finally does anyone else ovalise the brass bits the levers mount on really floppy levers.

BTW, I was however really happy with my M4s and only upgraded when i found i could get the new ones for a bargain basement price.

I've really never had any problems with mine, with the exception of a few bad factory bleeds which I quickly addressed. As with any mechanical device there are going to be lemons out there (possibly bad machining at the piston ports). However in the 6 years I've used Hopes, they have all been great, dependable and powerful.

you set them up wrong probably
Not necessarily. I've ridden a number of the mono m4s and one set of m6s, and none of them really impressed me. Good yes, great no. The power is alright (no better than my Hayes Mags though, and nothing like my mate's Juicys) but I can't stand that lever feel. It always feels like they need bleeding, even when they don't, they're just too squishy IMO.

Keep in mind one thing with Hopes, they take a few good hills to properly break them, they aren't automatic like Hayes. But once everything is bedded in you'll be good to go.
