bike came in with recalled Shimano cranks (FC MC12). driveside crank is siezed and NDS cup is siezed to the bottom bracket (not the bb shell, but the bottom bracket). chainrings can't be removed because they are the riveted ones. a penetrating lube has been sprayed on the spindle and that didn't help. we tapped on the back of the spider with a punch, no dice. we got this 'claw' thing and that just pulled some metal off the crank arm. any other ideas? don't want to pull out the sawzall.

Carefully applied heat.
Sawzall is your best bet, hack and replace everything.
A truck and a tree --> Too bad the pics are gone.
What he said. It works, and aside from the paint, I don't think it would hurt the frame. I would be more scared to use a sawzall.
