Ooooohhhh....you.....lucky.....

Thinking about coming out for the San Diego SX, maybe we can meet up if you plan on that one too. For a couple years I stayed in SoCal for the whole month of January to catch those three Anaheim's and the San Diego races. Went broke doing it, but there didn't seem to be an option at the time. I was a complete moto junkie. Still am, but that money and time is relegated to DH now.

So...will you be working at the race, or spectating? Do you go to all the SX/MX races around the country? The world? Which is your fave, boating, moto or auto? Do you race?
I did not want to higjack the brooklyn thread so here you go.
If you ever need a place to stay in Anaheim just let me know.

I go to more boat and auto races then I do moto. I do try to hit the ones I can. I also try to hit all the off road desert races I can too. Mainly to make contacts so I can find out who is who so I can sell my parts.

Fav? I started racing boats when I was 14 and just got out of it a few years ago. Pretty much I kept stepping up and stepping up and it got to the point that I was heading to get killed (like so many others have). So now I'm still involved but just not behind the wheel.
Me back when I first stated running good. They just loved that fire suite. haha

Ok enough of that. You want to see some of my buddies paint jobs.
First off here is a cool thread that is open to anyone with paint questions. Billy B is the best of the best and I think it's so cool he spends his time helping the DIY people. So if anyone has a question just sign up and ask away. He won't care if it's about painting cars, boats, bikes or whatever.

Now some of his work:
This pic does no justice at all

This is his personal ride.

His contact info

Ok the other guy that might be more affordable is Todd Griggs 626 991 9031.
Here is just a few samples of his work:

He said he did this for a downhiller. I have no idea who though.

A nitrous bottle to match some tuner guys car.

I just don't have many pics of his work. I've seen allot of it and it's all looked very nice.

Yes! Cool indeed and thank you.

Do you miss being at the controls when you're at the races now that you've had to hang up your life-jacket...er the fire suit? That racing photo is sweet.

Have you heard of a new movie called "dust to glory"? I think it's about desert racing. Maybe about one particular race, not sure. A friend said I should see it. Have you been to any of the eastern Outdoor Nationals? What about MX des Nations?

Thanks again!

edit: I think the nitrous bottle is my fave. But all those paint jobs are off the hook.

look at you go. Cool pic. You and OCDH would get along well. I hear she rips on a MX too.
I kinda miss it from time to time. But it's a lot of money and even way more work and time. That part I don't miss so much. The fire suit remark was about the t shirt I was wearing. lol
I'm building a pretty wicked boat to just dink around in on the weekends right now. It's not going to be a slug by any means so I'll never give up my jacket or race shorts. The shorts are kevlar in the ass. Would you believe you are not water tight at 100+? The jacket has these big leg staps to keep it on. Also has a 16' parachute on the back to slow you down if ever need be. 2 must have items for going fast on the water that you never see being used by the fast weekenders. I guess they are so much better then a professional driver that they never crash.

I have not seen that movie but I would like to. Sounds like a modren version of "On Any Sundy". That's my fav movie ever and I don't even ride moto.
To tell the truth I don't follow MX as much. The only thing I have to offer them is brake lines and that market is pretty flooded already. I go to Anaheim supercross just because it's so bad a$$.
I do keep a close evey on Pro Stock bike and Top fuel.
I would love to get hooked up with a few teams building bikes like this one.

Spooky!!! That's not me on the Kawi, that's Ricky Carmichael. HA! I wish it were me. I did take the photo though...if that counts for any coolness. ;)

I don't have an mx or race (yet). But I ride whenever anyone is so generous to let me borrow a bike.

That frame shot is sick. (LOL OGRipper and the honda gearbox.)

I'll see if I can get more info on the Dust flick. On Any Sunday is a great one. Far cry from the Anaheim scene these days. Enjoy that race this weekend for the lot of us. Can't wait for pictures. And the outcome. Or at least hopefully to see some competition up front.

wow. poly chain driven whipple thru air-water intercooler. sweet stuff!
And it has twin overhead cams on each head. I don't think you will see many Harleys with that!! That eniter engine is all one off custom made stuff. Wish I could say I had something to do with it other then just drool.

I am helping a friend of mine re-produce his dad's top fuel bike from the 60's. It was a twin engine triumph with a chain driven supercharger. It set all the records back in the day. His dad has passed away so we are just going from pictures, old notes and my friends brain from when he 9 or 10. It's comming along pretty well at this point. Nitro is wicked stuff.

Well not really. They still run the big Lake Ellsinore race every year and the desert racing is alive and well.
Think you're tuff? Line up with 200 or so other riders and race the open desert (no real track at all). After that Anaheim would seen like childs play.

i wouldnt be surprised if they arent having trouble keeping blower belts on there. ofcourse i dont know how much boost they are making or HP for that matter. maybe they are not having issues.

i had a late model EFI car (22 psi 357 cid) that used a 50mm poly chain and i started out with a fixed tensioner located where they have theirs and i always tore the teeth off the belt at the 330' mark. made a new tensioner that sat inside the "loop" and applied tension from the inside-out instead of outside pushing in.

Here is a vid of that monster running. Was just a test so he clicked off pretty early. These guys are in Sweeden.
You have to wear bullit proof vests to run a top fuel bike. No thanks, I'll watch from the fence.

save as please

Post a pic of your car.

Yo spooks, didja make it to Anaslime?? Or decided against because of the rain? Or perhaps you decided against damaging your camera to get photos because of the rain? If you were there, camera in hand, let's see some pics. Especially pit pics.....of Gossellaar wrenching RC's Slowzuki or Jeremy Albrecht wrenching the Mean Green Bubba Machine.

Thanks anyway about the pics. I trust you'll post more goodies of your various motorized endeavors in due time.
