After being badgered by a couple jackalopes, I have decided to just post my lame ass excuses here!

No, I didn't submit a thread with the pics from last week's ride.
"WHY?" you ask?

ok, here are my excuses, er, I mean, reasons.

1: No one looks past those ghey thumbnails anyway unless they think it MIGHT be a cool pic.

2: I can't get my URL links to work because I no longer have access to any hosting site that allows linking. So after a failed attempt the other evening of writing a beautiful prose, spotted with fabulous ride shots, I just gave up (ask N8, i think he posted in the thread before I deleted it..well, some one did *shrug*).

3: In order to even attach those ghey friggin thumbnails, I have to reduce all the pics to 100kb or less, which, IMHO is a waste of time if no one is going to look at all the pics anyway.

yeah, that's all I have... :p

Alright, I had to deal with the attitude in you pms, but I've had enough.

-I like the thumbs and so do many people. I don't want to have to look at every photo in a thread. I'd say I view about half of them.

-Despite the fact that I like them, I will be taking a poll on whether we should keep them or not.

-Yes its all very hard. Sorry bout that.

Constructive criticism is always going to get you 1000% farther than being obnoxious and insulting.

Well email them to me then, and I'll do the work for you :p
Echo, I tried today and I got MAILER DAEMON messages.

Ridemonkey: excuse a girl for getting frustrated. :( I didn't say a word to anyone until I got pestered for not posting the pics. I figured you didn't give a rat's a$$ since you didn't reply to me anyway. :(

so it came across as attitude *shrug*... at least I was honest! :D

Well given what you said, I'm surprised to see you on the site at all.

And I don't generally respond to PM's like that.

actually, to be honest, I think I would really like them if they were just a bit bigger. That way, you could view huge pics if you wanted but still see the thumbnails well enough that you didn't have to enlarge it (say, for some one using dial-up or browsing at work).

attitude check: How was that? Better? :)

I have been a member here a for a while and truly miss the 'old days.' I made good friends visiting RM. The Lounge has changed and I can't say that it's as warm and inviting as it used to be. My interests in biking have also changed so I feel rather depressed when I see threads about riding and my heart doesn't speed up as it used to. :( I came back this week because my RM friends came to Pkill and we all shared a really cool day together! It was my first time on a mtb since last year so I was really excited about sharing pics. So, I apologize for the attitude, but I was UBER frustrated when I couldn't post my pics.

I DO like that the :stosh: is back. :D

Hey RM

Is there a way in in a user profile to make it weather you see thumb nails or full size ? I know the software may not support it , but I figured it it does it may not be a bad comprimise.
I personally am not big fan of the Thumb nails, I can understand where some people Particually Dial-ups are very fond of them.

and one other thing , if we are going to have a Limit on how much space we can use to post photo's ( Don't like it , but totally understand it Disk space cost $$$ ) why have the 100Kb limit on photos ? You have to manage your space anyway.

I know this new Policy has made me change things, and I relized I'm paying for 25 MB of Web space that I am not using , what better way for me to use the space than to put my pictures there and link them back.

PM me what the mailer daemon said... or email them to me at home... or both :D

And I totally understand you venting to Ridemonkey in a PM! I mean with all the ca$h money, hot babes, and fame he gets from running this site, he should be bowing to all of our whims! ;)

Thumbs are good when you want to put up a bunch of ride pic's or for threads like the Hot Girl thread. Thumbs are no good when you want to insert a funny image into a thread. Kinda kills the spontaneity. But like others have wrote, its no big deal to put an image up on another server and just link to it.

I say keep the thumbs.
