I finally decided yesterday, after several weeks of "jabber jawing", that I was going to ride to work. Why the big deal? Well, for those that know the Tahoe area, it included the "famous" 8-mile uphill of Kingsbury Grade. I've done it many times before, and kept putting it off this year because I was too (you fill in the blank-any excuse will do). I gave myself plenty of time, getting on the road at about 6:15 a.m. It's 30 minutes to the bottom of the Grade, and I give myself an hour and a half, just in case, ya know? Got to the top in 1:31, then ripped down the 3 miles to the lake (man, how fast 40-odd mph will wake you up!!!). An easy spin to work, towel bath to freshen up, and then actually enjoyed the day. Oh, while riding up, I think I was able to see out by Bentley and just catch of view of where Alaina is resting. Blew her a kiss, I did.......
