that the bullet was fired randomly in the air, and hit a window in the building in which Cantor has an office (the bullet didn't hit his office) -- it is clear that Cantor willfully misled the media this morning. Cantor and his office knew that they were not targets of the shooting, but they claimed otherwise to score political points.

Our local news in Richmond reported that the bullet that struck Cantor's window was a stray shot (fired into the air?) that struck the glass from a high angle and landed on the floor about a foot away. It didn't even penetrate the window blinds.

This is not an unusual occurance in Richmond. I'm thinking it was a celebratory round fired on Obama's signing of the healthcare bill.
