I want to move to BC!!!
Hi all,

Since i am Athenian, i reckoned it would be good to be at the men's xc race to get some pics and enjoy the fun for my fellow monkies. The course was described by my friend Roasted in another thread. It looked much more impressive when you were actually there.... the dropoff was biiiig only an Aussie guy pulled a 7footer drop, the rest rolled down the chute, full of berms, singletrack, rocks, roots, and a couple of tabletops, oh and a platform like the big one in whistler (ofcourse nobody attemted any manuals or endos there... :nope: )

So here is a small pictorial for starters....

Thanks for the pics! I bet those guys wished they could stop and drop their seats on some of those sections! They probably felt like they just got

The Swiss guy that broke a chain was Christoph Sauser, probably the one favored for gold. I was hoping he'd pull it off since the doped up Mierhaege was out of the way.

Check out those fancy ;) rotors on his Olympic bike

A 7' drop? Maybe I'm going blind and missed it in your photo collection, but would you happen to have a photograph of it?

Men's was tons of fun to watch...Why is it that most of the European riders race on hardtails, whereas the trend here is to ride FS? And second, where did the Dutch dude get the carbon Giant HT?!? I WANT IT NOW!!!

Ok the 7ft drop (rough measurement) is on the pics as a part of the course but i got no pics of the ozzy that took it as a drop and not as a roll down.
The 3rd pic depicts a rider at the lip, and the 4th another rider at the rolldown/landing zone.
The race was fun to watch but i am still having a headache from staying for 6hrs in the sun....
I am more than happy to have provided my friends with pics ;) Enjoy.

Exclusive to ridemonkey, yet I posted them on bikeforums also. :nope:
Lol, come on Klein, you know i got friends there, and bikeforums brought me to RM. If you noticed i opted for posting there as well 2 days later so that i wouldnt let any of my friends dissappointed. What do you want? to re-edit the thread title ?
:D:D:D

Skookum, i got loads of more pics from the event, 5mp resolution, i am just waiting to get back in the UK (DSL) so that i can handle them more easily....

the dutch rider is riding a giant carbon bike (think it's still called the mcm). it's a european model only or it has been over the last couple of years.

oh and the euro riders choose the hardtails b/c they know how to actually ride their bikes :)
