On airport "security"

Since the Trump era two of my friends married foreigners who they met while were in the country as students. They both followed the rules, sent their fiances back home, applied and received the appropriate marriage visas. When their now wives came back to the U.S. for the weddings they arrived via JFK and were interrogated for hours, getting verbally abused and screamed at the whole time until they broke down. That seemed to be the point of it all, they broke down, had no secrets to tell and once they were fully traumatized were let go.
