To be fair, JBP did use quotes - which goes a long way to negate your criticism in this instance, but overall, I would have to agree.

not sure if you know but that article is from 2009 and McGowen pleaded guilty to burning down two lumber mills and a tree farm in Oregon amongst other crimes and ended up with a plea deal, and was released in 2013.

As for Yassin, he was convicted on all counts of conspiring to aid a terrorist group and provide support for a weapon of mass destruction, as well as money-laundering and supporting a foreign terrorist organization and has since been deported back to Iraq.

And Rafil A. Dhafir was so guilty that Five other people, including his wife, had already pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the case.

When the article was written the whole story wasn't available for consumption and it appears both the author and the attorney were very wrong on all accounts.
