On the outside, most discussions about incarceration and sexual desire are limited to exploitative “reality” shows, violent movies and terrible jokes about homosexuality and prison rape. But like all humans, we deserve some semblance of dignity.

Also: Prison is mostly fucking stupid and the evidence doesn’t support it (if your desired outcome is s safer better society for everyone) for a vast majority of ‘crimes’.

Like why do they even go to the trouble of making up ridiculous numbers of years long past someone would be dead? Just call it "life in prison" and stop with the charade.

I believe there are often rules with various sentences that allow for parole, so although it may seem like life in prison, it may not mean that. Also if there were multiple convictions it makes sense to separate sentences as it is possible for some convictions to be overturned and it would require and this wouldn't require resentencing for the standing charges.
