I wonder if Filipino families in the US still have their Lolos and Lolas with them instead of in nursing homes.

I transport to and from nursing homes in the SF Bay area. In 14 years I have seen very few elderly Filipinos in the nursing homes....The staff is predominantly Filipino but not the residents
That is good to hear. They grow old surrounded by family.

My Jewish side of the family is very strong and loving towards the older relatives. Very few crazies also. My Irish side is not. Once you are no longer financially useful you're on your own.

As they grew older. My mother and Father lived in the guest house in my sisters back yard so that they still had their own space but she could take take of them as needed. Mom died 18 years ago. Dad died last year at 96 in his own bed in the guest house with all of us there.
