an artichoke. (possibly some aoli (sp?) if i can get off my ass)
mushroom stuffed cornish game hen.
oyster stuffing.
something green, yet to be determined.
Louis Tete Beaujolais Nouveau.

I am not usually a big fan of Beaujolais but with this years stash just in, I had to get a bottle, plus it seemed to fit the meal.

I didnt like it at first because I dont really like light reds & lately have been enjoying big reds, that are bold & have a strong presence on your palate, like Syrahs, Cabs, Riojas, etc.... But I really enjoyed it after I started drinking it. It is very simple, crisp & tasted like fresh grapes with a soft aciidity. No tanins whatsoever. It is a very easy to drink wine & I think even if you are not a Red drinker you will like it.

The birds rocked & there are plenty of leftovers too. Maybe quesadillas tonight...

Buehler Vinyards down in Napa has a great '03 Zin. (no, not 'white zin') I've got one bottle left. Strangely, I discovered it in Boston at a friend's wine shop.
Get it if you can. The vinyard says it's sold out.

If you like strong reds, WA is becoming pretty specialized in strong, heady, reds. There's one place that makes a great one they call 'BSH' (Brick Sh*thouse for those keeping track at home.)
Owen-Sullivan is the winery.

what shop in boston? i love me a good zin, and i'm close to boston.
it's actually in Plainsville and as far as I know it's just called the 'South Liquor Mart'. Jason took over the flailing business from his parents and is trying to make it more of a wine store than a liquor store and is in the process of tearing it down and building a whole new retail complex. He's been holding tasting events and really building a nice inventory/selection of wines.
The place isn't much to look at from the outside right now. I just talked to him and he's officially out of the Buehler zin. He had shops from NYC calling him looking for the stuff though.
I'd stay away from the Tempranillos, I haven't had one I like yet. He seems to have good recommendations otherwise.
Our 'house red' is Santa Christina (Antinori)Sangiovese which he carries. It's $9.99/bottle at the Safeway within riding distance of the house. Ride the DHR and it resembles a workout.
Tell him Nate sent you if you go.
