There is a MKIII Jetta in Florida that does the same thing.

On the strip.

wow, I always wanted a Mk1 or Mk2 golf. That thing's got allot of work done to it, considering the supra was beating the 996 turbo (which is a faster car than the supra, stock vs stock) and it jsut dusts them.

Still though, this trumps ANY VW out there.

900hp, 4wd. NACA airduct on roof. Its insane.

That car was at a show in California last year and underperformed, in all aspects....track, dyno, 1/4 mile.

A turbo MKII beat it in the1/4 mile.

You sure it just wasnt a stickered up and semi-moded Mk3? Because this exact car has a 600-900hp (depending on set up and turbo) inline 5 engine, and the amount done to it is rediculous (basicly a pure race car, with a group B rally engine in it). should be good for low to sub 3 second 0-60

I know it did poorly for the car challenge sponsored by European Car magazine.

A quote from someone who participated in the shootout

Well, it made 900 wheel untill it came to the US to dyno, then it was only 587.

It's a sick car, with lots of cool parts and amazing engineering. It just doesn't seem to make the power they think it does.
I saw the old Dahlback MK4 dyno 587 wheel on god knows what kind of gas. My 20V made 420 wheel on 100 octane on the same dyno, same day. This was on GIACs mustang dyno. I also saw the car trap 119 mph(14 something ET) in the 1320. My old 20V trapped 122(12.6 ET), same track, same day.
